actually perform and which ones are just a hype. I'm Jason.
I'm Cam. We're the owners of Source Energy Group, where we've designed and installed countless solar and battery systems for Australian homeowners.
In this episode, rating joins us to break down the top four best solar batteries for 2026 and explain exactly why these are the only units you should be considering for your home. We're
going to have a chat about different batteries on the market, what we believe are the top four, I guess.
Yeah. when it comes to batteries, they're not all the same, are they? There's, you know, you've got your all-in-one setups, you've got ones that have whole home
backup. you've got ones that have their individual inverter. [cough] What else we got?
yeah, that's essentially it. You've got AC coupled batteries, DC coupled batteries.
You've got your stacks as well, and then you've got, you you know, the ones that only come in a certain size. So, if you want a larger battery, you've got to have, you know, five different things
hanging off the wall. Multiple individuals, yeah. Parallel them together.
Mhm. what what do you got on there on your place, Brad?
A ESA. An ESA, yeah. and what's like, in your opinion, what's the what's the biggest selling point for the for the GoodWe ESA?
Well, it's the all-in-one. The all-in-one, like, I don't have a heap of conduit running from here to there. It's just Well, I've said it before, it almost
looks like it's Bluetooth, right? There's like, compared to other systems out there.
So, what what are the top four that we're going to run through then, Cam, I guess? And then, I guess we can start with the Yeah,
purely opinion-based, but yeah, go off the the GoodWe ESA, SolaX Energy, the Sungrow SPH, and or I think SolaX for an for an off-grid perspective, so.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, my preference on the is is obviously the ASA. Everybody knows that.
That's That's what we sell. That's what we push. And we do it do it for a reason.
it was Well, from what I've heard from GoodWe and our wholesalers, it was top 75% of solar battery and inverter sold in 2026.
but those those figures will come out towards the end of the year, I suppose. Yeah, so we're we're putting the GoodWe ASA as our number one, aren't we?
Yeah. Yeah, it's definitely you know, right now right now you jump on Google.
what's it going to say? It's most likely going to say Sigen Energy at the moment. Yeah.
Okay. Sigen Energy, man. Sigen Energy is still a great battery, isn't it?
Yeah. Oh, definitely. And for the I guess the not the untrained eye or just a general consumer,
you put them side by side, they actually look pretty similar, don't they? Yeah, definitely.
So, you know, what what is the difference between the two and why? Well, I know why I I still think the GoodWe's one level above. it's to do with the all home
back the in-home backup. Yeah. Which Which Sigen Energy's got the same same sort of setup. It's got the all home backup.
the the off-grid capability of it though, you do need another box, like a gateway they call it, to go external to it to be able to
allow it to run off-grid. Mhm. I'd I'd say they're probably a little bit lighter, a little bit different in their in their fire suppression and
safety and what not. Which one's lighter? the Sig Yeah.
yeah, your GoodWe ASA battery 8.3 sitting around 80 80 something kilo, I think.
Yeah. It's pretty heavy, but heavy for a reason. Just the technology they got inside them.
Yeah. So, what would you What are you saying the fire suppression side of it?
Yeah, the fire suppression side of it. So, they've got an inbuilt canister inside fire suppression canister. And then they've also got the release valve.
the way they've got the the cell structure inside with the What is it? Honeycomb in B shape?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. So, essentially the ESS is an all-in-one because the whole home backup Yeah. That's the same thing, isn't it?
Yeah. So, as I said, when if you look at the SIG stack and the ESS stack, they do look very similar.
but if you were after that whole home backup, it's not that SIG energy doesn't do it. If you want a clean, tidy installation without extra hanging off your wall,
GoodWe is definitely the one, isn't it? Oh, definitely. Yeah.
I mean, coming from your background again, Braden, in the building in industry and everything like that, fire safety is a a big part.
Massive. me, personally, the fire safety that the GoodWe has is just it's a no-brainer.
Yeah. I mean, what's SIG energy got in that way, Cam?
So, no fire incidents with SIG energy, like they've with batteries in general Yeah. It's fire risk.
It was more their AC plugs that it happened with, but So, obviously, fire it's been I guess one of the things that a lot of people are worried about
with batteries cuz it was spread around the news. I think was it a few Tesla batteries or a couple other cheaper batteries caught on fire somewhere?
I think it was the LG. The It was the LG, wasn't it? LG Resu 10, I think it was the individual one that That was a big fire risk cuz it had a big
recall. Yeah. over a couple of years for it.
Yeah. the SIG was So, obviously, you got the standards of that. you got to be mounted on obviously a fireproof wall or fireproof
backing plate. you got certain dimensions for the battery where they can only be within different What's the word? Utilities and so on.
Yeah. Yeah. or even the escape path. So, you know, having that inbuilt fire suppression is is a very good piece of mind.
Oh, it's massive. Definitely. So, is is is that something that would have sort of flagged you to go down the path you were?
The the fire suppression? Yeah. Oh, obviously, you know, you safety's first, especially when you get your family in the
the place that you're putting it. So, you know, the last thing you want is to be waking up in the middle of the night trying to save your family cuz there's your house is on fire.
Yeah. You know, it's it's huge.
Yeah. so, you've got your your dad's got solar at his place as well. What what system did he get?
I think he actually got Solax. Yeah. but unfortunately for him, it's not his first solar system that he's had put on, so he's got a bit of a spider web
Yeah. things going on over there as well, but he wishes that he went with the He did say that directly to me, so
It's hard It's It's hard because it is generally such a tidy looking bit of kit that I could understand why people would want it.
Yeah, definitely. Kind of going off track on the batteries here though, but what you just said there, Brayden, about the whole spider web of systems on the roof,
it's actually right now with people that have solar and wanting to add a battery, a lot of the time it's still their best case scenario is to actually just get rid of what's there and put a whole new
system together. And that's not just coming from us for a bigger sale or anything like that, but it's actually, you know, probably eight times out of 10 it is actually the
best solution, wouldn't you say, Ken? Oh, most definitely. The way I always like to put it is like you're charging your your iPhone with a with a bloody Dyson charger or
something like that. Like, you can't you can't mix different components or different products together. They're not going to operate as efficiently as what they should.
everything's going to talk to each other well. You can You can set your say good we inverter up, you can say there's a third third-party system on site, but even if you do, it's only
going to guess at what that is exactly doing. And you can put in a meter so it can exactly measure what it is.
Still not going to do you well like you you're not charging off that third third party system in your batteries.
you're not discharging when you need to be. it's only going to use your daytime usage on that third party system.
It's just always better off to bring everything into one, use it as one whole product.
Yeah. So, with the good we are say with the inverter that stacks on top, it comes with four strings. I mean, there's other inverters on the market that do
the same thing as well, but you know, I go back in the early days, there was only a lot of two string inverters, three string inverters.
and by having that extra string as well, it allows you to design the system, allow for it different facing arrays for better performance or even if you've got an area where there is
some shade certain times of day or whatever, you can gives you that extra leeway or in your design as well.
Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, we used to be governed by go to orientations or using an optimizer or something like that just having having those extra trackers on
there now or trackers what you connect the strings into, but it allows you can go to every orientation. One one bank of panels to every orientation without having to use optimize
optimize anything like that or add a completely separate inverter as well. so, you can do two inverters to give you those four trackers to go extra arrays or something like that need
to. That was one of the ways you used to do it, yeah. Yeah. Sungrow Sungrow's probably still is quite a good inverter like battery system,
but we were discussing before, it's it's separate. So, you got an inverter and then your conduit, cables, whatnot down. Some installers might go the extra mile and
drill in the hole and go through the back, but I don't know about running running battery cables through a wall.
Yeah, should we break down for I guess people that don't really understand what the inverter is.
mean to us it seems simple, but obviously you got the panels on the roof that's going to produce the electricity, isn't it?
Yeah. So, the inverter will come down and that'll transfer your DC current into AC current.
And so, the panels produce DC electricity. DC, yep.
Inverter's only got one job really, hasn't it? Yeah, to transfer the current.
Yeah. That DC into AC and AC's what we use in the home, isn't it? Yeah. And yeah, they're they are quite important part of the of the show, especially being all hybrid and whatnot
these days, so they they hold all your settings, they hold all your your monitoring, all your safety cutouts and all that stuff.
So, it is it is important to pick the right one. It's not just looks. but that's again pushing it back to the ASAs is the biggest reason I I like that and I go down that path is just the
sheer safety they have. And just being the all-in-one system with the fire suppression, all that that having it all combined into one.
Yeah. You feel safer. Cuz it's just in one stack. So, where it can go on the wall, what the limits are from like how far from a window and all that.
Like you said the difference that it's just cleaner and everything like that, but what's that actually do for your home, I guess?
So, where where you can put it on your home. like lean on the install day how we went around and measured where it could go.
Yeah. like north versus set east-west face, south face, whatever. and how far from a window, exit path, all that.
600 from a window? Like being a Yeah, 600 from a window. From the opening of the window?
Yeah, from the opening of the window. and also lean down the what's it called?
Oh, like it it being all-in-one makes it easier to be able to judge where you can put it.
Yeah. rather than like Yeah, scattered all over the place.
less everywhere. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, Yeah. It sells itself. I think I've said it a hundred times. Like it's it's tidy. Like you don't have Well, realistically, if you wanted to add a later on if you're allowed to have
more batteries or whatever you don't You've got an empty spot on your wall that doesn't have another inverter or something sitting there, too. Like it's
Yeah. Yeah, it's awesome. You can just stack on top of it.
Yeah. Versatility. Yeah.
I guess that's the other benefit of the SAI and the Sig is the same. It's being stackable.
Mhm. with the SAI, we go up to 6 8.3s. You can obviously configure other other size batteries, but we work with 8.3s.
I think you've Have you got six or five? I think you've got six. Yeah, so you've got a full stack. But not every home needs a full stack. You know, someone with half half of your bill probably
would have got maybe three or four. Yeah. Yeah, I've got five.
And if they increase their usage over time, that is another benefit of the SAI.
They can just add another 8.3 stack straight on top. Like you say, without adding more more crap to the wall.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Definitely. there've been another Yeah, another I guess perk on it being just the all-in-one system. the or the perk, too, Sig Energy. I did actually hear recently, which I haven't
even looked into it, so I'm not going to quote anything, but Sig Energy apparently lowered their pricing to be able to compete with GoodWe in the market. And also, they're looking at
removing or coming out with a solution that's removing the gateway. products are always going to change and fluctuate, but Oh, yeah.
the benefit, too, the SAI at the moment is not having the gateway. Sig Energy might come out with a better version or a slimmer version or a lighter version.
With the gateway, what What's that for anyone that's listening? Yeah, for the off-grid off-grid backup side of things.
the SAI, the thing I like about it the most is just being the all-in-one. it's 600 from any opening on a window. It's like gives you more versatility in
where you can place it in the home. or sorry, around the home. There's there's a lot of rules that govern where we can put it, which Jay's Jay touched on earlier, but just being
that all-in-one stack makes it makes it user-friendly, essentially. More home-friendly.
Yeah, more home-friendly. Not just by looks, but then you come from the installation side, too. There are a lot cheaper batteries on the market than any of the four we're talking about here.
and yes, we are all about the ESA, but you know, the other ones still almost fit the same category. They're close to Definitely.
but if you start going to those cheaper ones apart from that, and I've got a photo there which we we've got in a few places of a 50 kW battery and a 50 kW battery, and just you look at
them, and one of them actually takes up, I think it's about 3 3 and 1/2 m of wall space from ground to the SolaX side.
This is what we're, you know, the people that aren't actually watching this, but listening to it, you know, you're looking at a space that's potentially, say, 3 and 1/2 m by 4 m that's taken up
just for 50 kWh of battery storage versus 800 by 2.2.
Yeah. That's it. Yeah. So, that's a lot of real estate, you know, in your house that is still available for your house.
Yeah. Yeah, exactly right. Anything else that you need to put there?
Yeah. No, you you've you've still you've got real estate.
Yeah. Yeah, well, say say you already have a gas hot water system, but you put one of these systems in, and you want to change out to a to an
electric hot water because you want to utilize your power as best you can. Where are you going to put that hot water system if you've used 4 and 1/2 m worth of your dead wall. Everybody has a
dead dead side of their home. By dead that the home, I mean the side you try and put all the services on so the other three sides look beautiful.
Yeah. but yeah, if you have used up 4 m in length of that that real estate on that side of your home, where's the hot water system going to go?
On the back patio in the in the man cave or what? Yeah.
Not at all. Not a hope. In the laundry.
On the bathroom. Yeah. Put it in the linen closet.
water's on the back patio. Yeah, unfortunately. So all right, we we keep half an hour on the ESA cuz we believe it's the best.
And you know, we touched on Sigin. Sig still good. So what are some of the benefits of the Sig? What's I'd I'd dare say it'd be just pretty much the down the same path
as the the Goodwe. Mhm. I'd I'd go for that. They've got they are quite tried and tested. they do have
What What are they? whole bloody solar and battery farms overseas. I think it's in Spain. Again, don't quote me, but I don't know what the size of it is. I think it's a few megawatt.
Yeah. and yeah, that's that's quite good. They did have a a plug issue which which I won't dive into too hard. AC plug issue
All right, we said before, there's always going to be something go wrong. It's It's more about how the company deals with it. Rules of industry.
Yeah, exactly. And I won't won't just slam the Sig. Goodwe had that issue with their with their grid tied inverters at one point. And you had to go around and bang this little clip on
them. they didn't have any issues with them burning the outer or anything like that, but that's yeah, Sig's a tried and tested they're good off-grid backup support.
They they've got good ability for generator charging. ESA also does, but I believe the three-phase version can do generator charging.
single-phase is still in testing. Mhm. same with the the off-grid side of them. a lot of that's still in the testing mode at the moment, but they are
a new product and I I believe firmly believe they're a they're they're a very good competitor to compete with Sig. And last year Sig Oh, no, sorry, not 75%. It was a top
battery system sold in 2025. Yeah. So, essentially, like Sig's got its name, and everyone's been using it. But, GoodWe released the SA, and then all of a sudden, you know,
stores Every installer is like, "We just want our install." Yeah. GoodWe SA. 100% and yeah. And their sales are going through the roof, and you know, We all saw it pre-May with the with the
wholesale shortages. Let the internet catch up with its own searches when you search stuff, cuz there's always a lag time in searches, and before you know it, it's just going to be saying SA all
the way. Yeah, definitely. 100%. That same day again, Solax has always been not not the huge competitor in the on-grid market, but the off-grid market, I still believe they're probably one of
the best. Sig energy coming out with theirs, they were the only type, and they're actually what got me into the the whole home sorry, the all-in-one
look. But, SA came out and competed with that and drove the price down for Sig energy, and also got them to clean up their product.
I seen that reel that you you sort of reference about the prices and everything like that. So, and again, we don't know if it's true, cuz it wasn't Sig energy himself,
it was someone else stating saying why Sig energy's good. but they stated that, you know, Sig energy actually dropped the prices of their batteries to compete with the SA.
Yeah. So, in other words, I mean, if they're dropping their their price of the battery, they're obviously got that much built into it. Not that they can, you
know. Yeah, exactly right. And yeah, keep keep the market honest.
Yeah, it's not about It's not about always just because you're paying more is always better, but there is definitely a a price difference between cheap bottom-of-the-barrel to a fair
price. I guess in the short term, all they could do was drop the price to compete with the SA, you know? Give it 6 to 12 months, they're probably going to have the exact same functions SA has
now. I wouldn't be surprised. That's it. GoodWe will be trying to do something else to be different again.
Yeah. Exactly right. It's a competitive market.
And you need it to be. It needs to be. That's That's what I was mentioning with the with the Solax. So, the the grid-tied side, not so much, but they've come pretty heavily into the
hybrid market as well. And they are looking at or not looking at, I believe they have already brought out and doing testing on the all-in-one system on their front.
But, it their off-grid has just been unbelievable for years. So, for seeing GoodWe to come out and start pushing into the off-grid market as well,
it's it's great cuz it's something to complete with Solax. Yeah, it takes the monopoly away.
100% and like there's probably other off-grid ones out there, but haven't pushed too far into it. It's probably an episode to get our off-grid specialist Yeah, definitely. Get Bowden in on that
one. Yeah, get him in chatting about it. Now, Sungrow's obviously got a good name and they're great inverters and they're great batteries and you know, so
I guess why do we believe that GoodWe's better? Well, we've said why we like the GoodWe, but how how's the Sungrow battery system stack up now?
Is it just at a price? Or is it performance? What is it?
I believe, and again, this is just my take on it. I believe say Sungrow's more of a EPS backup, so like an emergency power supply.
it's not going to have that initial thump to be able to and in a grid outage, if you're using your whole home, I I believe in those business few scenarios where it'll just it'll trip
the circuit and you got to reset the circuit and then watch your power usage. whereas a GoodWe is more of a off-grid designed backup supply, same with the Sigen Energy.
I I think it's more important to have that if you're going to have a whole home backup.
it's actually an important point and in like simple layman's terms, a lot of people have that misconception that just cuz they got a battery, if the power goes out, they're fine.
Yeah. Whereas that's actually not the case, is No, definitely.
So, most batteries on the market have the ability to have partial backup, don't they?
Partial backup, yeah. got to be wired up correctly for that partial backup.
Yeah. Whereas the ESA comes standard with the whole home backup.
Exactly, yeah. All those other batteries, and including the Zig, for now, you have to get that additional add-on, don't you, to get the
full home backup? Yeah, that gateway, yeah. Yeah.
You know, but the ESA battery, like I don't even think my Wi-Fi cuts out when When it trips over.
When it trips over. I think yeah, and so, man. So, you've had some power outages since you've had it installed?
Yeah, we've had the power turned off and stuff before, yeah. Yeah.
And I yeah, no no Wi-Fi out. Yeah, I won't lie, when when we first to the beer fridge kick.
Yeah, good. Well, I opened it and the light's on, so We yeah, when we first started installing, that was one thing. I don't know if they did updates or what,
but the one thing that didn't stay connected in a power outage scenario was the Wi-Fi, and you'd see a reset the monitoring, but yeah, they they must have done something to fix it, cuz it
quite quickly as well. Yeah, it stays on. Yeah.
So, you know, even though we haven't got SunGrow on the top of it, they're still one of the better products on the market, aren't they?
Oh, definitely. Especially here in Australia, they're probably one of the most established brands in Australia, aren't they? For I think that's the important part, is
the established brand in the in the country. So, Sig Sig energy came in and they came in quite big and heavy, and just made themselves quite a reputable brand and a reputable presence in the
industry. Yeah, so, Solax has always had quite good support in Australia, especially been pushed very heavily by Raystech. that's and they support it, they work very closely with
them. Raystech are a little bit like us, they'll only push Raystech are solar wholesalers for anyone listening.
but they'll only push Solax, cuz it's a product they know. Mhm.
also, panel-wise, they only push one type of panel because it's a product they know.
then or they also sell other things like Sun Grow or what not, but they're they're heavy on the Solar Edge brand.
Sig Energy they came in with a pretty heavy presence. Sun Grow's been in Australia for a very long time, same with GoodWe.
And like you you want to you want to go down the path of choosing a product that they have Australian support.
Mhm. So, they By Australian support, we mean like us as installers, we we can back the product because we've got wholesalers that back us with it.
GoodWe's got Australian offices and call centers and what not. I was going to say, I guess we've been pumping GoodWe's like the actual product itself, but one of the biggest deciding
factors for us to choose something and it should be the same for the end homeowner is what you just mentioned is the presence of that company in Australia because worst-case scenario
something happens to your installer, you're going to have to go straight to that manufacturer and if they don't have a office that's been here in Australia and operate in Australia and understands
Australian conditions, the chances of following up and claiming that warranty are next to none.
Yeah. And what are the thoughts on the like you you've mentioned the GoodWe conversations like the support you get from GoodWe. What's the support like from these guys?
I I haven't had to go down that Sig Energy path. I've only Well, my only talks on the Sig Energy side of things would be Well, I would have heard in the industry and B, I've installed two of
them with the boys, so I can comment on installation-wise, which I'll get back to that.
Solar Edge supports not too bad. they're they're a bit what bit like GoodWe, just got a full chat set up and you can get added to it and that's that's all set up through Raise Tech as
well. So, support-wise, it's it's quite good. It's it's there and they're very informational. Sun Grow, I think they do Facebook chat and you'll go through and you'll be able
to talk on Messenger with with some industry experts or sort stuff out for you quite fast.
I think the biggest thing as as a person that resells the product, GoodWe I'll brag about GoodWe all day, but the the biggest support we get from GoodWe is
if it is something like directed at them and it's a problem that they have, they don't they don't shy away from letting us know that it might be an internal issue.
They are on to it straight away, don't 100% they do, yeah. And they they'll they'll try and offer support or they'll they'll let us know about the support that they can give or whether it's an
internal issue, whether it's something they need to get their techs out to fix. If it is something that's quite heavy on they'll get their own technicians to look into it.
So, I think that that's very important. Huge. Yeah, definitely.
Well, we saw we saw that with your inverter or battery. So, that they looked into it. They were they were pretty informative on
on what went wrong in the end. They're good GoodWe are responsive to it. So, they they were happy to hear what we think should be better like be able to put another alarm up to let us know that
happened instead of us having to find the drama ourselves. Yeah.
Which every new product's going to have that. That's right, Kings.
And that's that's important for them, too. Yeah, for sure. It's all about development, right?
Yeah, exactly right. And it's good that they they show the interest in wanting to keep being better.
Yeah. cuz if you once someone stops that, then it's an issue, right?
Yeah, that's where everything falls apart. Definitely.
And then they'll they'll come out with something like we've mentioned before. They'll come out with something better to beat people that are trying to catch up with them and they'll continually
build and they'll get better and better. We actually have had a scenario in the past, not at not with us, but at another company, that
the the homeowner was directly affected by an issue. GoodWe did admit that that was an internal issue and they they up front paid a portion of the homeowner's bill.
Power bill. Because it did affect them for quite a while.
Yeah. But it is something that they pushed down the line and they fixed up. So it's not about saying Goodwe's Goodwe's the best and
they never have a drama. But it's about owning up to the dramas and if they do own up to the dramas and they they offer the support to be able to get through Mhm.
That's the same as us though with like I guess it's probably one of the biggest I wouldn't say fears, but one of the biggest reasons why someone probably wouldn't go
ahead or concerns on their mind is you know, I spend all this money you know if something goes wrong who do I call? Well, obviously you call the company that installed it. But what
if you're going out of business, what happens? Well, then that's why we pick the products we do is cuz that established offices in Australia and the support that you're talking about.
But one thing that we actually do is you know, this is help I put I guess put people's mind at ease or whatever is say it's an issue like that. Let's
say it was the panels or the inverter or the batteries or something like that. Something stops working, okay? And we know it's going to be a warranty claim through one of our products that we
picked because we know that they're going to follow through and do it and so We're just going to come out and change that, you know? Cuz that process could be fast, it could be a week, it
could be two weeks, it could be a month, it could be two months. They've all got their different processes whether it goes through insurance or anything else or whatever. but what we've done as a
company, we've actually put something in place it's kind of like a self-assurance thing.
We don't want our customers waiting. If If we've ever installed this, we're choosing these products and they're going with us because of our recommendations we're going to stand by
stand behind what we do. and if it is a product fault we're just going to go out and replace that. We're going to swap it out so they got no downtime. They get the solar
battery in the first place because of the power bill, aren't they? Yeah, 100%.
You know? We're going to swap that out as quick as possible.
and then we're just we'll sort out the warranty claims with these guys in the background.
Yeah. Okay? Now, I know a lot of people out there say they, you know, they say stuff like this just to win the job and win the sale and when the phone rings
they're nowhere to be. Yeah. we do what we're going to we do what we say we're going to do, you know?
We've already had cases like this and done it in the past. Proof is in the pudding.
Yeah. But, you know, I might have been a little bit off track there, but it sort of come back into what we're talking about
there. So, Yeah. so yeah, touch base on just about every or every product that we think the best is, but I
I can't stress enough these are these no actual figures. These are our opinions on the products.
opinion, as I said, we choose these products for a reason. What do they say? Every well, opinions are like everyone's got one.
So, yeah. Brilliant. Cool.
Yeah. Right now, essentially comes down to right now, we believe the best on the market is the Goodwe ES series. And if you want the
best on the market right now, that's what it is. Okay? And the they're our top four products cuz I believe those top four products are probably competing around each other
to keep the market honest, keep the price down, the price staying down. Also, as past that cost price decrease onto us, we can pass that onto the end consumer.
End consumer gets more money off their power bill. Yeah. Win, win, win. Win, win, win. If you're looking to install a battery, I guess it's Goodwe ES series, Sungrow,
Solax are our top pick. Sure, there's other good batteries on the market, but they're the ones that we put our name behind.
