Brisbane

Queensland's capital, our biggest install volume

From the inner suburbs out to Ipswich and the Bay, Brisbane is where we install the most systems in the state. Ducted air conditioning and pool pumps push quarterly bills past $1,000 for a lot of Brisbane homes, which is usually where the numbers start to make sense.

Gold Coast

Where Source Energy Group is based

Home base for Source Energy Group, so response times here are the fastest in the state. Gold Coast roofs range from tight beachside blocks to acreage in the hinterland, and we design around whichever one you've got rather than a standard template.

Townsville

North Queensland's highest solar exposure

Townsville gets some of the highest solar irradiance in the country, which means a well-sized system pays itself back faster here than almost anywhere else we install. We travel from our Gold Coast base for every Townsville job, same crew, same standards.

Why Queensland Homeowners Choose Us

Being based in Queensland isn't just a head office address. It changes how fast we respond, how well we understand local conditions, and who actually shows up.

Fastest response in the state

Our installers and office are based on the Gold Coast, so Queensland jobs don't wait on a crew flying in from interstate. Quotes, install dates and follow-up calls all move faster when the team is already local.

Built for Queensland's climate

Pools, ducted air conditioning and long, hot summers push Queensland power bills higher than almost anywhere else in the country. We size every system around that real usage pattern rather than a generic southern-state average.

Energex and Ergon compliance handled

Grid connection rules differ depending on whether you're on Energex or Ergon network infrastructure. Our team lodges the right paperwork with the right distributor the first time, so approval isn't the thing holding up your install.

Local Coverage

Solar & Battery Installs Across QLD

Source Energy Group is a Queensland business first. Our head office sits on the Gold Coast, most of our SAA-accredited installers live within an hour of the jobs they do, and Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Townsville make up the bulk of our current install volume. Every system is designed around the home it's going on, not an average that happens to flatter a quote.

Why Queensland Bills Run So High

Queensland homes carry some of the highest average quarterly power bills in Australia, largely down to the climate. Ducted air conditioning running through a long summer, plus a pool pump cycling most of the year, can push a $1,200 quarterly bill without anyone in the house feeling like they're using power carelessly. That's the exact profile a correctly sized solar and battery system is built to fix.

Brisbane, Gold Coast and Townsville

Each of our three current Queensland areas has its own install profile. Brisbane covers the largest number of installs and the widest mix of roof types, from tight inner-city blocks to larger Ipswich corridor homes. Gold Coast is where our office and most of our installers are based, so it's also where response times are fastest. Townsville sits further north and receives some of the highest solar irradiance in the state, which tends to shorten payback periods even further.

Energex, Ergon and Grid Connection

Queensland is split between two network distributors, Energex in the south-east and Ergon Energy across regional and north Queensland. Each has its own connection application process and technical requirements, and getting this paperwork wrong is one of the most common reasons an install gets delayed. Our team handles the application for whichever distributor covers your address as part of the standard process, not as an add-on.

STCs and State-Specific Incentives

Small-scale Technology Certificates apply the same way in Queensland as they do nationally, and make up a significant part of most rebate calculations. Battery incentives such as the Cheaper Home Batteries Program are assessed against your specific system size and household circumstances rather than a flat statewide figure, which is why we calculate your exact numbers during the free audit rather than quoting an average.

Expanding Within Queensland

We're often asked about towns and suburbs outside Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Townsville. If you're nearby but not listed above, get in touch through our contact page and we'll confirm whether your address is within reach. You can also see how Queensland compares with our other current state on the main service areas page.
