Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026 · Source Energy Group Pty Ltd — ABN 65 447 767 096
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotes, contracts, and installations provided by Source Energy Group Pty Ltd (“Source Energy Group”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to residential and small business customers (“you”, “your”) in Australia.
2. Quotes
All quotes issued by Source Energy Group are:
- Site-specific — based on your property’s address, roof orientation, and energy usage
- Valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated
- Inclusive of GST unless explicitly stated otherwise
- Subject to site conditions confirmed at the time of assessment
Performance estimates (annual output, savings, payback period) are projections based on your usage data, current tariff rates, Australian solar irradiance, and your roof’s orientation and tilt. They are estimates only and not guarantees of performance. All assumptions are stated in your quote. Actual results may vary.
Return on investment calculations assume a stated annual electricity price increase (noted in your quote), consistent with Australian historical averages. If assumptions prove incorrect, your actual return may differ.
3. Contracts and Acceptance
A contract is formed when you sign and return your proposal or provide written acceptance (including electronic acceptance). Your contract incorporates your quote, these Terms, and any agreed amendments.
Before proceeding, we will:
- Explain the contract to you, including any provisions that may cause confusion or result in additional charges
- Draw your attention to any early termination fees, deposit non-refundability conditions, or pricing subject to site conditions
- Advise you that purchasing solar may change the pricing or terms of your energy supply contract
4. Your Cooling-Off Rights
If this sale resulted from an unsolicited contact (door knock, phone call, or similar), you have the right under Australian Consumer Law to cancel this agreement within 10 business days of signing — at no cost to you, with a full refund of any deposit paid.
To exercise your cooling-off right, contact us in writing at info@sourceenergygroup.com.au or call 1800 315 138.
If you wish to withdraw after the cooling-off period, cancellation fees may apply as specified in your contract. We will only charge fees that are reasonable and proportional to costs we have incurred.
5. Deposits and Payment
- A deposit is required to confirm your booking. The deposit amount is specified in your quote.
- Deposits are non-refundable after design sign-off, except in the circumstances described in Section 8 (Termination) and Section 4 (Cooling-Off).
- The balance is due on the day of installation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- A receipt will be issued for all payments made.
6. Overdue Payments and Debt Recovery
Payment is due on the date specified in your contract. If no date is specified, payment is due on the day of installation.
Overdue notice: If payment is not received by the due date, we will issue a written overdue notice. If payment is not made within 14 days of that notice, we may refer the debt to a third-party debt collection agency or take legal action to recover the outstanding amount.
Interest: Interest will accrue on any overdue amount at a rate of 10% per annum (calculated daily) from the due date until payment is received in full.
Debt recovery costs: You agree to reimburse Source Energy Group for all reasonable costs actually incurred in recovering any outstanding amount, including:
- Debt collection agency fees and commissions
- Legal costs on a party-party basis
- Court filing fees and disbursements
Disputed invoices: If you dispute an invoice in good faith, notify us in writing within 7 days of the due date stating the grounds of the dispute. We will respond within 10 business days. You are not required to pay the genuinely disputed portion while under active investigation, but any undisputed balance remains due and payable on its original terms.
Suspension of services: We reserve the right to suspend warranty support and ongoing services for accounts that remain unpaid beyond 60 days, until the outstanding amount is resolved.
7. Finance Options
Finance arrangements (including Brighte and Plenti) are voluntary alternatives to upfront payment. Finance is provided by independent licensed credit providers, not Source Energy Group. If you choose to finance:
- The total amount payable under the finance arrangement will exceed the cash price
- Full details including total cost of finance, fees, and your rights will be provided before you sign any finance agreement
- The finance term will not exceed the expected life of the system
- Complaints about your finance arrangement should be directed to your finance provider or AFCA (1800 931 678)
8. Installation
- Installation will be completed within the timeframe specified in your contract, subject to circumstances outside our control (identified in your contract)
- All installations are carried out by SAA (Solar Accreditation Australia) accredited installers, licensed electricians, in accordance with Australian Standards, state network requirements, and manufacturer specifications
- We will handle all grid connection paperwork with your relevant network operator on your behalf unless otherwise agreed
- If significant site conditions arise that were not identified in your quote and result in additional cost, we will advise you before proceeding. You have the right to terminate at no cost if you do not accept the change.
9. Your Energy Supplier
Installing solar and/or battery storage may change the pricing or terms of your energy supply contract with your electricity retailer. It is your responsibility to contact your energy retailer before and after installation to understand any changes that apply.
We will assist you in lodging the required network connection application with your relevant network operator and will keep you informed of progress at each step.
10. Warranties
Your solar system is covered by:
These warranties are in addition to, and do not replace or limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (consumer guarantees).
If you need to make a warranty claim and cannot reach Source Energy Group, you may pursue your rights directly with the equipment manufacturer. Manufacturer contact details are included in your quote and installation documentation.
11. Termination Rights
You are entitled to terminate your contract and receive a full refund if:
- You exercise your cooling-off right within 10 business days of signing (unsolicited sales only)
- We propose a significant change to the installation design from that provided in your quote and you do not accept the change
- Unexpected site conditions result in additional costs and we are unwilling to absorb them
- We fail to install within the timeframe specified in your contract for reasons within our control
If you terminate for any other reason after design sign-off, cancellation fees may apply as specified in your contract. These fees will be reasonable and proportional to costs incurred.
12. Complaints
We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. Full details of our complaints process — including independent escalation options — are available at sourceenergygroup.com.au/complaints.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes that cannot be resolved between us will be referred to the appropriate Australian tribunal or court.
